English Language Recommendation Requirements
Candidates for the CSNM Exam are encouraged to demonstrate proficiency in English. Effective oral and written skills are standard job description requirements for a Nutrition Manager in all sectors of our professional practice.
There are several possible methods that an exam candidate could attain this proficiency:
-
Grade 12 College/University stream English credit from an Ontario Secondary School.
-
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test with a minimum score of 550 for the paper- based test (PBT) or 79 for the Internet-based test (iTB).
-
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test with an overall score of 6.0 with no score less than 5.5 in any of the four bands.
-
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) test with an overall score of 60 with no score less than 50 in any of the four bands.
-
An English Language Evaluation test from an Ontario Accredited College with a minimum score of 70%.
Note: The exam candidate is responsible to make arrangements for this testing, as it is a recommendation not a requirement for the CSNM examination process.
