We are seeking a permanent full-time Director of Dietary Services to join our team at Mariposa Gardens! A signing bonus will be offered to external applicants.
Mariposa Gardens is located in Osoyoos, British Columbia. Osoyoos is Desert Wine Country’s sweet spot with the charm of a beach town surrounded by the only living desert in Canada. This position offers a unique opportunity to live in a city with small-town charm and big-city amenities.
The Director of Dietary Services is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.
As a Director of Dietary Services your typical day will impact in the following ways:
• Planning, coordinating, directing and monitoring the effectiveness of all operational activities within the dietary department.
• Overseeing all production including food and non-food purchases, receiving, inventory control and implementation and follow up of Production sheets in the department.
• Participating in the recruitment, employee and labour relations, orientation, occupational and non-occupational injury/illness, performance management, training, education and other people related functions of the community for respective department team members.
• Responding promptly to concerns of residents and family members, mediating a satisfactory response to concerns and implements action plans to avoid reoccurrence of similar issues.
• Establishing and sustaining clinical care in a manner that is resident centered and fosters evidence-based best practice.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Must-haves:
• Graduate of a recognized Food Service Supervisor’s diploma course.
• Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management. Student memberships are not applicable.
• Completion of a Food Service Nutrition Management Certificate, from a recognized educational facility. Applicable to applicants within the province of British Columbia.
• Red Seal Chef. Applicable to applicants within the province of British Columbia. • Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Bonus points for having:
• A degree in dietetics, food service administration and management is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Long Term Care/Residential Care industry is an asset.
