Northland School Division No. 61 is seeking an advocate for Indigenous Education and a proponent of FNMI language and culture to help us lead the way in First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) education. Applications are invited to fill the role of temporary Program Consultant for the School Food Services department, effective October 2018 for an incumbent on maternity leave. The successful applicant will provide consulting services for approximately twelve (12) community based nutritional school lunch programs in Northern Alberta. Duties are divided between divisional office in Peace River, Alberta and the lunch programs. These include:
Commercial cooking experience is required as well as the willingness to travel and be away overnight. Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills are also necessary.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Food Science or a Nutrition Management Certificate, and 2 to 3 years supervisory experience working in a food services related field. Ability to work in an intercultural environment would be an asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered. A valid driver’s license is required. The successful applicant must be computer literate, flexible, and comfortable working in a team environment.
The starting salary range for this position is $53,765.00 to $61,178.00 per annum. A comprehensive benefit package is provided after one calendar month of employment.
