Site:                 Ramsey Lake Health Centre (RLHC)

Purpose:   
While adhering to safety and sanitation regulations, perform duties related to the preparation and cooking of food items to include substitutions according to therapeutic diets; portioning and serving food; washing and cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils and designated cooking/work stations.

Education and Training:  
    Journeyman Trades Certificate
    Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:  
    Institutional food cooking experience required

Knowledge/Skills and Ability:
    Secondary school or equivalent
    Food Handlers certificate required
    Ability to understand, interpret and apply written and oral instructions, including product dilutions, menu items,
       dietary restrictions, M.S.D.S., workloads, policies and procedures
    Ability to work independently and as a team member
    Ability to push carts, and lift safely a minimum of 25 kilograms
    Ability to adapt to change and set priorities to ensure that work goals are met on a consistent basis
    Be physically capable to perform related food tasks, (i.e. walking, standing for prolonged periods)
    

Personal Suitability:   
    Good interpersonal and communication skills
    Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record
    Criminal record check satisfactory to the Hospital is required


Selection Process:   
Candidates will be selected for this position based on their seniority and ability to meet the normal requirements identified in the job posting. Shift:    Initially Assigned to Days and Weekends

French Language Service Designation:    Bilingualism is an Asset

Salary:    $25.4498.................................................$26.6508/Hourly
