Temporary (1 year) Part-Time Food Service Supervisor
SUMMARY This position provides leadership to our patient food services staff related to meal assembly and service, ware washing, nourishment preparation and distribution, inventory management and food distribution between two hospital sites (Charlton and West 5th). The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for day to day operations to ensure timely, safe, accurate and cost effective provision of meal service in large multi-site healthcare organization.
QUALIFICATIONS • Community College Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Food Services • Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) • Must be self-directed and self-motivated• Must have the ability to prioritize and complete tasks within given time restraints• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills in a unionized setting• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with food safety and sanitation• Experience with CBORD and thorough knowledge of therapeutic diets • Previous experience as a Food Service Supervisor in a hospital setting preferred• Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES: Some responsibilities include:• Oversee department staffing including scheduling, task assignment, performance review• Perform quality management responsibilities• Develop, implement and maintain departmental procedures
HOURS OF WORK:Rotating shifts at both hospital sites, days and afternoons, including weekends and holidays; shift lengths vary and are up to 12 hours
